Born in Belgium, Juannes aka Pulse started out playing the drums in a band with friends, but was carried away with electronic music quite early in his musical career. He was especially motivated for this move by the music from early Detroit and the likes of Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and Belgium's DJ Pierre.
Over the years his style went from funky house tunes to sterner techno sounds, evolving into the minimal techno and pure electro Juannes plays nowadays. The fact that Juannes used to live in Greece and France surely had its effects on his musical scope and environment.
Although his main interest remains the actual mixing itself, Juannes is taking up producing electronic music on the side. As a promoter, he is a cofounder and active member of the Pressure party team and the driving force behind a minimal concept called Plus/Minus and the techno concept Liqud.
Amongst the more memorable dates Juannes was invited to play at Decadance, Kozzmozz, Ultra, Culture Club, LessIzMore (Paris) and Fuse where he shared the decks with Steve Bug, Guido Schneider, Martin Landsky, Jay Haze, Metope, Cassy, Sammy Dee, Jan Kruger and many more. He also earned a spot as resident at the P3P parties in Brussels along dj's as Pierre, Aki, Bern and Prince Off. Playing at P3P gave him the chance to play everywhere in Europe such as Be Cool in Barcelona and the Monza Club in Frankfurt.
